Eating healthy foods for health is all the rage, and we’re hearing a lot about bars, breads, yogurt, juices, snack and even eggs fortified with additional nutrients thought to be beneficial to the body. You’d get these essential nutrients from a balanced diet that included whole foods like fruit, whole grains, veggies, low-fat dairy and fish, but in the real world the diet of most Americans falls far short in most of the important nutrients, and functional foods seem to be a way to get all that nutrition in a single, healthy package.

Fruits and vegetables are the major source to enjoy the healthy heart. Green leafy vegetables like spinach, broccoli, kale, mushrooms, asparagus, sweet potato, tomatoes and carrots tend to have great source of iron and fiber that ensures the regular flow of blood to the veins and arteries to lead a healthy living.

Try to include foods that are rich in protein in your diet; protein is the most important nutrient that is not only healthy but also enables you to gain muscle mass and thereby a good physique. Foods rich in protein include fish, red meat, chicken, eggs, bananas, almonds, broccoli, carrot, milk, cheese, dairy products, sardines, salmon, tuna, sardines and turkey. When taking red meat, make sure that you take it grilled to reduce the amount of fat and top it up with a fresh garden salad or steamed veggies which not only make it healthy but also functions as a protein booster.

In this hectic lifestyle chronic stress and poor digestions are some of the primary causes of food intolerance. Digestion is compromised by a combination of factors including poor diet, environmental toxins, stress as well as an overgrowth of unfriendly bacteria.
